Thunderegg Days: 2008

Planning for the 2008 Nyssa Thunderegg Days Celebration is now underway. This year's event is scheduled for July 10th to the12th. Each day will be packed with events from daylight to dawn. Many of the favorite events and activities are already scheduled, and new events and activities are being added. One change this year is that there will not be any events scheduled on Sunday.
Below is a brief summary of the planned events. For a more complete listing and event information, please click on the link at the end of this information.
Among the events already scheduled are the traditional rock tour field trips. These will occur each morning of the event, Each morning will also begin with a breakfast presented by the 6th Grade Girls Basketball Organization.
Displays and vendors will be open Thursday through Saturday, with most opening at 9:00 am and closing in the evening. Many different types of rock, jewelry, crafts, and other vendors provide an interesting and sometimes surprising way to spend a day.
Each evening a dinner is provided at Mac Hall; planned this year are the traditional Thursday night Lions Club 1/2 BBQ chicken dinner with all the fixings,. Friday night is Mexican dinner night served by the Senior Class of the High School featuring a lot of homemade, authentic Mexican specialties. Saturday night features the famous BBQ rib dinner catered by the crew from the host Nyssa Chamber of Commerce.
Entertainment for the celebration will be provided each evening, everything from karaoke to performances by live bands from the surrounding region. Saturday evening entertainment will be provided by "The Big Band". This is an evening of big band sound you will not want to miss.
The Nyssa Chamber will have an on-site office set up near the east side of Mac Hall. Guests are encouraged to drop by to say hello or to share their thoughts about the festival.
